Matthew Maruna’s music harkens back to an older time; a time when songs had more than one part and even sometimes, included a bridge. Drawing inspiration from great songwriters of previous generations, across a wide range of genres; Matthew melds their styles into a unique listening experience. His lyrics take the listener through his memories, successes, and struggles. His intricate guitar parts  and arrangements take them on a journey through the seasons.

Matthew crafts his songs and albums with meticulous detail, which will culminate in a series of four albums inspired by each of the four seasons. The first album, Summer, released in 2019, features warm guitars, ukuleles and lush background vocals that evoke the brightest memories of summer. The second album, Autumn, released in 2022, explores love, loss, and longing while capturing the feelings of the bright sun on a cold day, to the crisp air as winter begins to creep into existence.

The upcoming album, Winter, is set to be released on February 21, 2025. For Winter, Matthew embraces a more electric and ambient sound, to evoke the feeling of taking a deep breath on a frigid winter evening. The lyrical content ventures into darker themes than its predecessors, with songs about depression, feeling lost in life, dealing with unexpected loss, and the journey of self improvement. The album showcases Matthew’s guitar playing through intricate and inspiring solos, intended to take the listener on an extended journey through the winter landscape.  

Currently, Matthew is diligently recording the final album in the series, Spring, which is intended for release in the spring of 2026.
